 "Gotta Know (Your Name)" was a big club hit for singer Malaika. Appearing on her debut album Sugar Time, the song was written by producer Steve "Silk" Hurley along with Jamie Principle, Eric Miller, and Tommye Miller. On Billboard magazine's Dance Club Play chart, the single spent a week at #1 in 1993. It also made it to #68 on their R&B singles chart.
