Songoftheday 7/1/17 - The secret of love I thought I understood the way it's supposed to be, I never imagined you could blow my theory apart...
"Impulsive" - Wilson Phillips
from the album Wilson Phillips (1990)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #4 (two weeks)
Weeks in the Top-40: 15
Today's song of the day comes from the California-pop trio Wilson Phillips, who had scored a pair of back-to-back #1 hits with "Hold On" and "Release Me" from their self-titled debut album. The third release from the set would be the bubbly girls' night out sing-along "Impulsive". Written by Steve Kipner and Clif Magness, lead singer Wendy Wilson along with sister Carnie and friend Chynna Phillips take you to get your groove back and just go with the moment in love...
"Impulsive" became Wilson Phillips' third top-five pop hit in the U.S. in December of 1990. The song also spent one week at #2 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary (or "easy listening") radio chart. Internationally, the single topped the Canadian singles chart, and reached the top-40 in New Zealand (#28), Austria (#29), Switzerland (#30), and the Netherlands (#31), but peaked just under that mark in England (#42).
