twostepcub's music chart for March 5, 2010...
Another week, another time to post my tunes for the week. This week Lady GaGa remains on top, while Michael Buble (pictured above) makes it into the top-5. Former big hits by Miranda Lambert, Janet Jackson, and Jay Sean drop out, while the Barenaked Ladies, Lady GaGa & Beyonce, and Alice In Chains make some of the biggest moves, Link-O-Rama is still in effect, so you can click on the name of any of the artists highlighted to go to their website... It's Nutts!

This week there are ten new entries to the chart, and the highest is my an artist who already has a climbing single on the list. Adam Lambert's "Whataya Want From Me", his second single, has grown at pop radio, while his first finally found a home in the clubs, as the dance remix is scaling the chart. Here's "For Your Entertainment"...
Colbie Caillat's sophomore single from her sophomore album was co-written by Caillat along with American Idol judge Kara Dioguardi. It's a departure from her usual breezy pop styling, venturing into a blue ballad about heartbreak. Here's "I Never Told You"...
Dance music artist Matt Schwartz, from Israel, has recorded under many monikers, most notably as Deepest Blue, one of my faves from a few years back. This time around it's M'Black, and the song is "Heartbreak"...
The next song off is a party. It includes rap group Three 6 Mafia (who won an Oscar for "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp")join up with Dutch DJ Tiesto (who will also have another song of his own debut), Jamaican-American singer Sean Kingston, and American rapper Flo Rida for a dance-rap jam in the "C'mon Ride The Train"/"Whoomp There Is Is" vein. It's "Feel It"...
Country group Rascal Flatts have released a special version of the title song from their latest album Unstoppable to promote the Vancouver Olympics, and here is the result...
And as promised, here's DJ Tiesto from Holland with another debut, this time paired with singer/actress C.C. Sheffield with "Escape Me"...
Country singer Eric Church's fifth 2sc charting single is he rocking "Hell On The Heart"...
And 25 years after the classic charity single from USA for Africa, Quincy Jones brings together 80 artists (well, if you consider Vince Vaughn an "artist") for a remake of "We Are The World" to benefit the victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. One may question the quality of the remake, especially given godawful Justin Bieber starts it off, but the intention is quite worth it, and worth going and buying the single or donating at YouTube to support the cause...
...to something totally as un-serious as you can get, Justin Moore follows up "Small Town USA" with "Backwoods", proving his marketing skills to the WalMart crowd complete...
And finally, the joy or bane of many in the UK. Simon Cowell's X Factor produced some great singers like Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke, but as vote-in shows can produce headscratchers, Britain's version of Sanjaya comes in the twin brothers of John and Edward Grimes, or Jedward, who astonishingly went quite far without any good singing ability, but a vivaciousness that thrilled teenage girls (and scarily pedophilic old men). The singlehandedly brought back Vanilla Ice in the UK, with a mashup of Queen's "Under Pressure" to the tune cribbed from that, Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby"...
And that's all she wrote!
