Songoftheday 1/6/17 - You pack your bag you take control, you're moving into my heart and into my soul...

"Dangerous" - Roxette
from the album Look Sharp! (1988)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #2 (two weeks)
Weeks in the Top-40: 14

Today's song of the day comes from the Swedish pop duo Roxette, whose success in Europe had crossed over to America with their Look Sharp! album, already landing three big hits with "Dressed For Success" and two #1's, "The Look" and "Listen To Your Heart". The fourth and final American single from the record was the bouncy dance-rock of "Dangerous", written by the pair's Per Gessle, and was one of the most "fun" singles to bring us into the new decade...

"Dangerous" became the third top ten hit from Look Sharp! in March of 1989. The song also climbed to #21 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary (or "easy listening") radio chart. Internationally, the single reached the top ten in Canada (#2), Poland (#3), Ireland (#5), the UK (#6 as a "double-A side" with "Listen To Your Heart"), Germany (#8), Austria (#8), Australia (#9), Sweden (#9), and Switzerland (#10).

Finally, Roxette live in 2001 sounding pretty tight...

Up tomorrow: Where in the world is this Latina songstress?
