99. Billie Jean - Michael Jackson (RE-ENTRY)
100. Wanted - Jessie James (DEBUT)

This week there are seven new songs on my chart, as well as two re-entries by the late Michael Jackson which tugged on my nostalgia nerve. Fittingly, the highest debut is a remade track from the 80's group Simply Red. Mick Hucknall and the band are on their farewell tour after 25 years, where they scored 34 top-40 hits in the UK. In the US, it's only been five times in the top-40 , including the original of this track, "Money's Too Tight To Mention 2009"...

Next up is a singer from Ohio, Kate Voegele. Kate first had success with the song "Only Fooling Myself" from the TV show One Tree Hill. Her latest is "99 Times"..

The Manchester Orchestra isn't a classical group from Britain, but rather an indie-rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, who debut with "I've Got Friends"..

German dance group Cascada come on with their recent UK #1 hit "Evacuate The Dancefloor"..

Singer/songwriter Keri Hilson pairs up with rapper and sometimes megalomaniac Kanye West for "Knock You Down"..

Dance singer Jessica Jarrell prepares for the apocalypse at the club with "Armageddon"...

And finally we have Jessie James - not the gunslinger but the 21 year old female pop singer who's on tour with the Jonas Brothers. Here's her debut, "Wanted"...

and to cap it all off is a little Jackson with "Man In The Mirror"...

And this is what Sarah Palin hath wrought....

Unfuckingbelievable. She must really try hard to be this stupid.

Distant Shores Song For The Night - Västerbotten!

Tonight's DSS is by Swedish singer Ola Svensson, who's Europop single "Sky's the Limit" is gloriously cheesetastic! It's the #1 song in his homeland..

We Are Coming.....Back!

I've been enraptured by the BBC miniseries Torchwood: Children Of Earth. Here's the promo, you can still catch yesterdays (and today's) episode at I-Tunes...

It's the best sci-fi of the year no doubt...

Cee U Next Today award for the week...Birther madness!

This week's Cee U Next Tuesday (C-U-N-T) winner is Delaware's answer to the crazy bitch during the election that screamed about an "inexperienced black male". This one interrupts a town hall by Republican Mike Castle of Delaware to rant about believing the thirty-times disproven claim that President Obama is not an American citizen, and therefore ineligible to be president. She goes on even after Castle meekly states in fact he is a citizen and is president, wherefore this moron goes off the deepend culminating in the Pledge Of Allegiance (for what it's worth), egged on by the mouthbreathing dickholes that remain in the Grand Old Party today.

This stupid bitch runs rampant in the county where I work, where ignorant McMansion suburbanites chatter on about some tidbit they overheard on Sean Hannity whilst they were taking their Percosets. Honey, just because you have a black "friend" that you talk about behind their back anyway, doesn't mean you're a clueless pussy of a rascist.

And you're ugly as fuck.

Story of the day...Didn't they secede already?

Governor Rick Perry had a hissy fit last winter when the federal stimulus plan passed, and was one of the holy douchebag triumvirate (with Sarah Palin and Mark Sanford) who tried to "refuse" the money intended for their states. In the end, all he would reject out of the 17 billion was $555 million that would have gone towards unemployment benefits, something that in my mind with the economy in the crapper would have been a helpful thing. But no, honey got the vapors from all that.

Well how's that all working out for you?

Actually, not well, since now Texas is asking for a loan from the federal government to pay for unemployment. That now they'll have to pay back. Classy. And his reasoning for not taking the stimulus money in the first place?

To receive the full amount of stimulus money available, lawmakers would need to adjust the time period used to determine whether people are eligible for benefits.

Texas also is being asked to expand eligibility to include thousands of low-wage workers. Lawmakers have said the change would help part-time employees like single mothers, college students and senior citizens.
Like that's a bad thing.

Maybe if we told him it was for lube and poppers back then he would've ha a change of heart.

Reason# 534 that maybe Texas should've seceded.

This week there are eleven new entries, and the highest is by a dance singer from Florida, Kaci Battaglia. She's has moderate success previously in the UK, but this time it's all about the club, with the sassy "Crazy Possessive"...

Next up is another dance track, but from an unlikely source - country singer Wynonna, as in Judd...She dabbled in club music before with a remake of Foreigner's "I Want To Know What Love Is", and now goes all-out with the anthemic "Sing"...

and the club keeps going, with newcomer Gia Bella, with "Back It Up"...

next is Australian duo Empire Of The Sun, whose debut single hit top-10 in their home country as well as Belgium and Ireland. They also cracked the US Dance Club top-20. Here's "Walking On A Dream"...

Indian-American singer Tina Sugandh has her second dance hit with "You Without Me"...

The Black-Eyed Peas follow up "Boom Boom Pow" with the current US Billboard #1 "I Gotta Feeling"...

English electronica duo La Roux have their second single hit my list, with "Bulletproof"...

Another European hit, and a former Distant Shores Song, is Icelandic singer Emiliana Torrini's "Jungle Drum"...

One of the best soul/R&B records last year was former Tony!Toni!Tone! singer Raphael Saadiq's The Way I See It, and a highlight from that album debuts - "Never Give U Up", featuring the legendary Stevie Wonder and newcomer CJ Hilton...

Country singer Jason Aldean has the only western single debut, with "Big Green Tractor"...

And to tie it all together, the opposite of the previous track - the Congolese collective Bisso Na Bisso, with Show Ce Soir, a nice summer/beach song...

Damn these bees!

Sham-Wow!

I must be going crazy.

This is the most entertained I've been all day

Distant Shores Song Of The Day....Sao Paulo sun....

Today's DSS is by Brazilian DJ R.I.O. with the breezy summertime hit "Shine On". It's a hit in France, but it belongs on every Caribbean cruise ship pronto...

Let's rodeo!!!!

I hadn't written anything on what I'm doing outside of here, but I feel like I should. I'm glad to be a part of the Liberty Gay Rodeo Association in Philadelphia, a charitable group that works on education of the country-western lifestyle as well as puts on events to benefit charities in our area. This year will be our second rodeo, and as it's coming down to the wire, I'm so nervewrecked it's crazy. If you are around the area, I really hope you can make it to the rodeo, which will be held August 1 and 2 at the Shriner's grounds in Plymouth Meeting, PA. There's also 2 big dances on July 31st, and August 1st at the Loews Hotel in downtown Philadelphia. There's more information at www.libertystampede.com. We still need help in sponsoring buckles and getting volunteers, so if you have any ability your generosity would be really appreciated by me. I sponsored one of the buckles as well (Steer Decorating). But by all means, come and see us! It's a great time, and on Sunday we're even having events for the children (who says our community isn't family-oriented?). But please, go to the website, get tickets, and come! I've given my heart to this organization for the past three years, and want this rodeo to be a success. Thank y'all for listening.

Distant Shores Song for the night...

Pascal Obispo is a French singer who has been a great advocate in the fight against AIDS. His latest is "Le Drapeau" (The Flag), which is accompanied by a beautiful video. It's got the subtitle "Captain Samurai Flower" on it, which I'm not sure if it's a moniker or an upcoming album title....

You can pick up "Le Drapeau" at Amazon by clicking here...

The only difference between Sarah Palin and Spencer Pratt is...

He hasn't been elected Governor of Alaska. Yet.

Otherwise, both are incurious, manipulative pussies.

(addendum, the gun with beer picture says it all. Mouthbreathers.)

Story of the day...Is Sessions trying out for hillbilly of the year?

So.

I guess today's confirmations hearings with Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor have turned into a showcase of bitter queen Sen. Jeff "I never met a sheet I didn't like" Sessions unleashing his gentlemanly racist bullshit on probably the only captive audience he's had in quite a while.

Fave moments: most of all, after trying to trash Sotomayor with a disproven notion that she's be biased due to her race, proceeds to question why she didn't rule on a case the same as another Puerto Rican Judge on the court. Priceless.

Second, he attempts to chide Sotomayor on "racism", coming from somebody denied a bench job himself due to proven racist history...

Finally, here's Rachel Maddow's take on the douchebag..

Cee U Next Tuesday for the week....Poison apple not falling far from the tree...

Liz Cheney, is a fucked up person.

Apparently trying to redeem herself to her father as the alphamale of his progeny (and effectively out-butch Mary), Ms. Cheney has spread herself over all the talkie programs protecting her father's "honor", after leaked investigations into a secret CIA program that may or may not have involved either assassinating people or spying on Americans. Of course, like any Bush/Cheney Republican, this isn't based on any facts...

Asked directly on MSNBC whether her father directed the CIA not to keep Congress fully informed about the secret program, Cheney said, "This is a classified program and he doesn't talk about classified programs."
Then why is this bitch on, then? If it's to titillate us into thinking you may run for some office or another, your only different with Palin is your capacity for calculated and somewhat learned evil. Go take your Dick and fuck yourselves in your hidden bunker.

As the hornets try protecting their nest, I hope justice and adherence to the Constitution is like Raid to them..

Franz Ferdinand, the new-wave outfit out of Scotland, were one of the latest acts tapped by Apple to promote a product - in this case, the iTouch. It's from their second US top-10 album, Tonight, here's "No You Girls"..

The next new song is a former "Distant Shores Song". It's by German singer Cassandra Steen, who teams up with Adel Tawil from the duo Ich + Ich for "Stadt" ("City")and has a cool video to sport...

Colbie Caillat returns with a new breezy summer tune, "Falling For You"..

Fallin For You - Colbie Caillat

Korean dance artist BoA follows up her 2sc hit "Eat You Up" with "I Did It For Love"...

Australian duo the Presets are also climbing the dance chart with "If I Know You". It sounds like the second coming of the Psychedelic Furs, in a good way (a new-wave Alan Rickman, if you want to be catty)...

and lastly is Irish soul singer Laura Izibor, who comes on at #100 with "From My Heart to Yours"...

This week eleven new songs debut on my chart, and the highest is by the Pet Shop Boys, who have their tenth studio album, Yes, include the moody "Love, Etc."...

The Pussycat Dolls have been sending singles on my chart like sparklers; after "When I Grow Up", "I Hate This Part", and "Bottle Pop", as well as lead Nicole Scherzinger's track with AR Rahman "Jai Ho" , which is still on the chart in the top-20, the "group" is back with "Hush Hush;Hush Hush", which infuses an original ballad with a taste of Gloria Gaynor disco..

The next artist comes from as remote to myself as you can probably get - the Russian eastern shore city of Vladivostok, which is closer to North Korea and Japan than it is to Moscow. She's on PapaJoe (as in dad of Ashlee and Jessica Simpson) Records, and her first dance hit is "Nightlife"..

Sean Kingston lands his fourth US top-40 song and debuts on my chart with the dance fave "Fire Burning"..

I listen to a lot of European hits (as evident in my Distant Shores songs), and hot in England now is the debut by Pixie Lott. Keeping the retro sound alive as Winehouse is still a mess, here's Lott with Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)...

Green Day had a fast rising single with "Know Your Enemy", and as it starts to fade they're ready with the followup, "21 Guns"...

Kristinia DeBarge is a DeBarge, as in 80's soul family group DeBarge. Her dad, James, was the one that was married shortly to none other than Janet Jackson. Here's her first single, cribbing from the classic "Na Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye"...

Three country songs by men debut, and the first is the latest by alt-country act Jack Ingram, who goes pretty by-the-book for his latest, "Barefoot And Crazy"...

Even more cookie-cutter country is Justin Moore, a newbie, with "Small-Town USA"..

and finally, for the master. George Strait puts his millionth single on my chart with the preview of his forthcoming album, Twang. Here's "Living For The Night", live from his home state..

and lastly, soul singer Anthony Hamilton follows his 2sc hit "Cool" with the pretty "Point Of It All"...

Time for bed. Damn Mosquitoes! Where's my Cutter?
