twostepcub's music chart for October 8, 2010...

Hey guys, after over a week with no internet (man, am I addicted), I'm back with my top tunes for the week. This week after five weeks on top, Sara Bareilles gives way to Maroon 5, while Usher and Pitbull (pictured above) storm into the top-5. Former big hits by Cage The Elephant, Pink, Kylie Minogue, Ke$ha, and Keith Urban drop out, while tracks by Kylie, Bruno Mars, and Selena Gomez make the biggest jumps (the songs moving ten or more spots are marked in red). Link-O-Rama is still is effect, so you can click on any of the artists highlighted to go to their website or MySpace (rightclick, and you can use a new window or tab and leave this page up). Viva Espana!

This week eight new songs come onto my list (marked in yellow), and the first in the new single by Barbadian superstar Rihanna. She's already in my top-25 backing up Eminem in what looks like a strong contender for Billboard's #1 pop single of this year, "Love The Way You Lie", and she's had five #1 lead-artist singles in the past four years - "SOS", "Umbrella", "Take A Bow", "Disturbia", and "Rude Boy". Her last album, Rated R, put four songs on my chart (including "Rude Boy"), and the preview track from her upcoming album Loud, is called "Only Girl (In The World").

Next up is Christina Perri who grew up right across the river from me in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Her debut single "Jar of Hearts" has gotten major exposure through TV's So You Think You Can Dance.

The Black Keys are a blues-rock duo from Akron, Ohio, and besides a couple minor charting singles in the UK, the band has their first American single success with "Tighten Up"...

Justin Moore is placing his third song on my chart, including his Billboard Country #1 "Small Town USA". His latest is "How I Got To Be This Way"...

Taborah is a singer from Long Island, NY, who has already had a #5 Billboard Dance hit with "I Am (The Rising)". Her latest is "Say I Love You"...

X Factor winner Alexandra Burke is one of the most successful acts to emerge from that British series, having scored two previous UK #1 singles with "Hallelujah" and "Bad Boys" along with contributing to two other #1 hits, X Factor Finalists' "Hero" and Helping Haiti's "Everybody Hurts". Her latest is her third lead #1 in England, and it features reggae/rap artist Laza Morgan. Here's the clip for "Start Without You" featuring some hotties...

Italian DJ Alex Gaudino already has tasted fame with the #1 European (and top-10 UK) "Desination Calabria" with Crystal Waters, and now is back with "I'm In Love (I Wanna Do It)"

and lastly, a band that is now the epitomy of New Jersey. Bon Jovi's first single was released in 1983, and in the 80's churned out four number one hits with "You Give Love A Bad Name", "Livin' On A Prayer", "Bad Medicine", and "I'll Be There For You". After 27 years the group has amassed thirteen more top-40 hits and four #1 albums (including their last two, The Circle and Lost Highway). Not bad for a hair band, eh? This November a Greatest Hits collection is coming out, and one of the two new songs is "What Do You Got"...

Take care!
