twostepcub's music chart for June 18, 2010...
Hey folks, it's been a quiet week cause of non-bloggy stress, but I'm back with my top tunes for the week. Thanks for hanging in there. This week Taio Cruz spends a third week on top, while Belgian dance act Stromae (pictured above) jumps within the top-10. Big moves are made by BWO, Alicia Keys, and Ke$ha, while former big hits by Blake Lewis, Beyonce w/Lady GaGa, Temper Trap, Goldfrapp, Kenny Chesney, David Guetta w/Kid Cudi, Snow Patrol, Melissa Etheridge, and Orianthi drop out. Link-O-Rama is still in effect, so you can click on any of the highlighted artists to go to their website. Happy Dad Day!

After a couple of slow weeks, there's fourteen new songs on this week's list. Talk about some house cleaning! The top debut is by singer Alexis Jordan. Jordan was a contestant on America's Got Talent's first season, making it to the 'wild card' round. Her first hit single is the bouncy dance track "Happiness"...
Next up is country-rock group the Zac Brown Band from Atlanta, with their fifth consecutive hit, all form their amazing debut album The Foundation. Its a warm yet anthemic ballad, and my favorite cut from the CD. Here's "Free"...
Kentucky-based Cage The Elephant has had great luck, placing their first three singles in the top-3 of Billboard's Alternative Rock chart. Following "Ain't No Rest For The Wicked" and "Back Against The Wall", here's the roots-alt-rock of "In One Ear"...
Kelly Rowland has had my favorite of the David Guetta-driven songs from last year, "When Love Takes Over", and her new single returns the favor by featuring Guetta as a co-lead (as well as producer). Here's "Commander", performed live on Graham Norton's show (check the "Commander" dance move)..
The next rock band is LA outfit Silversun Pickups, with their fourth top-10 alternative hit "The Royal We"...
The next singer I honestly originally thought was the freestyle-house singer from the 90s-00s, but instead is Cuban actress-singer Mayra Veronica from the Latin channel Univision. She also goes by Veronica, and her first club hit is "If You Wanna Fly"...
After a top-20 2sc hit "Dangerous Power", San Franciscan DJ's Dave Dresden and Josh Gabriel may have collaboratively broken up, but each is on Billboard's Dance Club chart this week in separate incarnations. Dresden teamed up with Mikail Johnston (also from SF)and is the first to make it back onto my list. It also features John Debo and singer Mezo Riccio, and it's "Keep Faith". This video first was show at SF's "Concert For Boobies" (had to include that since it's so awesome)...
Somali-Canadian singer K'naan has the first World Cup-related song on my chart, with the unofficial anthem "Wavin' Flag". Get out your vuvuzelas!
Shinedown's latest album, The Sound Of Madness, has produced 5 consecutive top-3 rock hits, and the fourth (along with "Second Chance", "Sound Of Madness", and "If You Only Knew") to make my list is from the expanded version. Here's "The Crow And The Butterfly"...
Miami R&B singer Jason Derulo already has my #2 song, "In My Head", still going strong, and debuts with his latest, which is a smash in the UK top-10 and US top-40 already. Here's "Ridin' Solo"...
and now for some more north-of-the-border sounds, this time courtesy of rocker-chick Serena Ryder, with the song "All For Love" (which does remind me just a little of Dream Academy/I Believe In Father Christmas)...
Kuduro is a style of African techno-dance that originated in the country of Angola on the southwest coast of Africa, before gaining ground in its provincial sovereign state of Portugal. By ways of France, French singer Lucenzo teams up with rapper Big Ali (who has performed on a lot of Bob Sinclar tracks) for the rollicking "Vem Dancar Kuduro" (They come to dance Kuduro)...
And finally, for something completely different, the master of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne, who recently defied all doctors' logic just by being alive, with "Let Me Hear You Scream". Unfortunately the sure-to-be-awesome video (like Kelly Rowland's) hasn't been released yet, so here's the audio...
I can't eat another rib...Happy Father's day to the coolest dad in the entire world. Mine.
