Songoftheday 10/1/16 - Got a picture of your house and you're standing by the door, it's black and white and faded and it's looking pretty worn...

"Heaven" - Warrant
from the album Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich (1989)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #2 (two weeks)
Weeks in the Top-40: 14

Today's song of the day comes from the hard rock band Warrant, who had scored a top-40 pop hit with their first single, "Down Boys" in the summer of 1989. The second single was a leftover from lead singer Jami Lane's old band, Plain Jane, but "Heaven" would end up becoming a massive hit, the biggest of their career. Written by Lane, the power-ballad got all the girls swooning...

"Heaven" traveled all the way to the runner-up spot on the American pop chart in September of 1989. The song also climbed to #3 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks radio chart. Internationally, the record went to #5 in Canada, #4 in Norway, and was a minor hit at #93 in the UK.
