Songoftheday 8/15/16 - Took a walk down a road it's the road I was meant to stay, I see the fire in your eyes but a man's got to make his way...

"Coming Home" - Cinderella
from the album Long Cold Winter (1988)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #20 (one week)
Weeks in the Top-40: 7

Today's song of the day comes from the glam metal band from Philly, Cinderella, whose sophomore album Long Cold Winter had already sported a pair of top-40 pop hits with the power-ballad "Don't Know Whay You Got ('Til It's Gone)" and the road anthem "The Last Mile". The fourth single from the set (lead-off track "Gypsy Road" stalled out in the bottom half of the pop chart) was yet another road-style rocker, "Coming Home". Written by lead singer Tom Keifer, the strummer was probably the "gentlest" of their hits, at least until the second verse...

"Coming Home" became the band's fourth top-40 pop hit in June of 1989. The song also climbed to #13 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock radio chart.
