twostepcub's music chart for March 16, 2012...

Hey everyone, it's time for my weekly rundown of my top 100 tunes for this past week. This week Gotye and Kimbra spend a second week at the top, while British singer/songwriter Jessie J (pictured above) holds on to the runner-up spot. Former big hits by Cee-Lo Green, Lady GaGa, Daughtry, Maroon5, and Adele drop off my list, while tracks by Katy Perry, Calvin Harris, and Outasight make the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red). Link-O-Rama is still in effect, so you can click on any of the highlighted artist names to go to their official website for more info, tour dates, videos, and more.....

There are nine debuting songs on my chart this week (highlighted in yellow), as well as three re-entries. Here are the new songs, along with a little about the artists with their previous video hits linked in orange....

It's a potty-mouth chart this week, with the two highest debuts sporting the F-word. The first is by singer Neon Hitch (yes, that's her real name) from England. On pop radio, she can be heard supporting Gym Class Heroes on their top-20 hit "Ass Back Home". For her solo debut, she takes profanity to the top of the dance chart with "F U Betta"...

..and a few spots below that is the debut from one-man act Penguin Prison, who has remixed a few hits before his current hipster-dance record, "Don't Fuck With My Money", with a clip shot appropriately at Occupy Wall Street..

British R&B singer Estelle had one of my favorite jams of 2008 with the slick "American Boy". She's had trouble following up that international smash, but finally scrapes onto the bottom of the US Hot 100 with a top-5 Adult R&B hit called "Thank You"...

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert previews his sophomore CD Trespassing with a song hoping to be his fourth top-40 hit, like his top-10 smash "What Do You Want From Me". Here's "Better Than I Know Myself"...

The next song got a lot of exposure appearing on Apple's iPod Touch commercials, and now has broken through at alternative rock radio, making their second hit there after debut "Colours" made the top-20. Grouplove met at an commune on the Greek island of Crete, and includes the son of prog-rock Yes' Travor Rabin. Here's "Tongue Tied"...

Irma (Pany) hails from Douala, the largest city in the central African nation of Cameroon, home to over 2 million people. She now resides in France, where she gained a YouTube fan following performing cover songs. Irma now claims her first recording hit with the #2 French single "I Know"....

Jin Akanishi was the singer in the Japanese group KAT-TUN, and seeks to carry over his immense popularity there to American shores, with his first US dance hit featuring Jason Derulo on "Test Drive"...

...and leaving Japan for Germany, where the initial winner of that country's version of The Voice releases her first hit single. Born to parents from the west African nation of Ghana, Ivy Quainoo made #2 on the German charts with "Do You Like What You See"...

The final debut is by singer Chris Cagle, who topped the country charts in 2001 with "I Breathe In, I Breathe Out". In 2008, "What Kinda Gone" made the top 3, and since then Chris has found a home at Bigger Picture records (pun relating to his weight not intended). Here's his newest top-30 hit "Got My Country On"...

and as a bonus, here's the clip for a song that re-enters my list after a stint last year when it topped the British charts. Now the Wanted are a bonified crossover, hitting the top-5 here with "Glad You Came"...

Now spring, Spring!
