Brit Sweep: August 19, 2016...


Let's cross the Atlantic one more time to check out the songs and albums making their way on to the official charts in the UK this week...

On the British singles chart, Major Lazer with Justin Bieber and MØ spend their fourth week at #1 out of four weeks on the chart with "Cold Water"...

In this rather slow week on the chart, the top debut doesn't show up until #60, as American pop/rock band OneRepublic is in with "Kids". It follows "Wherever I Go", which went to #29 earlier this year...

R&B trio WSTRN, whose name refers to the side of London they come from, return at #81 with "A-List". Last year they reached #4 with "IN2"...


American pop-punk veterans Green Day are back at #84 with their new track "Bang Bang". They've had five top-ten hits in the UK, with "The Saints Are Coming" with U2 climbing the highest, to #2 ten years ago...


Singer/actress Hailee Steinfeld teams up with the duo Grey and Russo-German DJ/producer Zedd at #92 for "Starving". It's her first top-100 hit in the UK...



 Canadian alternative hip-hop artist PARTYNEXTDOOR drops in at #98 with "Not Nice"...


 Meanwhile, on the albums chart in the UK, the Blossoms spend a second week at #1 with their self-titled album...

PARTYNEXTDOOR's PARTYNEXTDOOR 3 - P3 set arrives at #11. The second in the series went to #66 in this country...
