twostepcub's music chart for January 21, 2011...

Hey everyone, it's a cold Friday night, and time for my top 100 tunes for the week. This week Katy Perry spends a second week at the top, while Carrie Underwood (pictured above) hangs on in the top-10. The biggest jumps come from songs by J786, Enrique Iglesias, and Cher (moves of 10+ spaces marked in red), while former big hits by Tony Moran and the Zac Brown Band drop out. Link-O-Rama is still in effect, so you can click on any of the highlighted links to go to their website. Brrrrr!!!!

This week there are five new songs on my chart, marked in yellow. I've also included below links to these artists' other hits (marked in orange).

The highest debut goes to Robbie Williams, who recently rejoined Take That for the biggest selling album of last year, Progress. Since originally leaving TT in 1995, he has had twenty-eight top ten hits in his homeland, including six number-one hits ("Something Stupid" with Nicole Kidman and "Eternity" were his biggest). Williams has also had seven #1 albums in the UK - which is all his studio work except his last, which contains his latest US dance hit, "Last Days Of Disco".

British singer Adele nabbed the best New Artist Grammy in 2009, after her outstanding debut album 19 was a worldwide success and produced the US top-40 and UK top-10 hit "Chasing Pavements". Her emotional cover of Bob Dylan's "To Make You Feel My Love" is still lingering in the British top-40, as her new hit is about to debut on the #1 spot there. That new hit is "Rolling In The Deep"...

Jason Aldean follows up his country hit "My Kinda Party" with a song fast-tracking to possibly becoming his fifth number-one on that format. His biggest, "Big Green Tractor", spent four weeks on top. On his new ballad, he teams up with Kelly Clarkson, who also helped Reba McEntire with a version of "Because Of You" climb the country charts. Here's "Don't You Wanna Stay"...

Next up is another British singer, Katy B, who places her first hit here on my list with a song that's her second UK top-10 hit, after "Katy On A Mission". She gets some backup from Ms Dynamite, a Jamaican/Scottish rapper who also had a top-5 hit with "Dy-Na-Mit-EE". Their collab is "Lights On"...

The last entry is by German band Unheilig, who had the biggest hit in their own language in their country last year with "Geboren um zu Leben" (Born To Live) last year. Their latest is the season-appropriate "Winter"...

Stay warm, everyone!
