Today's SOTD comes from the Cuban-American band Miami Sound Machine, led by singer Gloria Estefan, who claimed top billing for the first time on their 1987 top-5 hit "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You". The second single from the album was the bouncy "Betcha Say That", which was as much of a rewrite of their "Bad Boy" as "Rhythm..." was of "Conga"...

"Betcha Say That" snuck into the American pop Top-40 in October of 1987. The single made it higher on the Adult Contemporary (or "easy listening") radio chart at #19 and #22 on Billboard's Dance Club Play list. Internationally, the song only popped on the chart in Canada at #37.
