Disco Dessert 11/17/19 - "Got To Give It Up" from Marvin Gaye...

"Got To Give It Up" was a club and radio hit for one of Motown's biggest treasures, Marvin Gaye. Appearing on his album Live At The London Palladium as the sole studio cut on the record, the song was written by Gaye and produced by Art Stewart, who meant to come as close to a "disco" recording as Marvin was willing to go. On Billboard magazine's National Disco Action Top-40 chart, the song spent a week at #1 in 1977, while also topping the pop and R&B charts in America as well. It would be his sole entry on the chart during the disco era.
