Disco Dessert 5/12/19 - "Get Up And Boogie" from Silver Convention...

"Get Up And Boogie" was a club and radio hit for the German disco trio Silver Convention. Assembled by producers Sylvester Levay and Michael Kunze, the act used a series of female singers to complete the group: Germans Linda Thompson, Austrian Penny McLean, and Jackie Carter from Mauritius. Appearing on their second album Get Up And Boogie, the song climbed to #5 on the National Disco Action chart in Billboard magazine. It also spent three weeks at #2 on Billboard's Hot 100 pop chart in America, and peaked at #5 on the R&B list...

Finally, in honor of the Eurovision Song Contest which is being held last week, here's Silver Convention competing in the event in 1977 with "Telegram". They ended up in eighth place...
