Disco Dessert 9/3/18 - "I Shoulda Loved Ya" from Narada Michael Walden...

"I Shoulda Loved Ya" was a single from Narada Michael Walden, who was better known as a producer, most prominently as the guy who helped the late great Aretha Franklin revive her career with "Freeway Of Love" in 1985. In 1980, this post-disco nugget went to #8 on Billboard's Disco/Dance chart, and #4 on the R&B Singles list. It also was a minor pop hit here in America at #66, but in Britain this song went all the way to #8. This came five years ahead of "Freeway", but you can already see the blueprint he'd use for the Who's Zoomin' Who album. "I Shoulda Loved Ya" appeared on Walden's The Dance Of Life album in 1979...
