Robbed hit of the week 11/6/17 - The Rebel Pebbles' "Dream Lover"...

"Dream Lover" - Rebel Pebbles
from the album Girls Talk (1991)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #42

This week's "robbed hit" comes from the all-female rock band the Rebel Pebbles, who came together in the late 80's in Los Angeles, and like another group from the city, The Go-Go's, ended up being signed to I.R.S. for their first (and only) album, Girls Talk. Sounding eerily similar to Belinda and the girls, they released their first single "Dream Lover", which was written by the band's Robin Fox, Ashley Hall, and Rachel Murray...

"Dream Lover" came within two notches of the pop top-40 in the U.S. in June of 1991. After no more singles reached the charts, the group broke up, though they did reunite in the 2000s.
