This week's "robbed hit" comes from the "boy-band" Guys Next Door, who were actors in a childrens television sketch comedy series on Saturdays on NBC in the early 1990's. The quintet, packaged up for appeal to teen and pre-teen girls, had all the bells and whistles and merchandise as groups like New Kids On The Block, and even almost had their own top-40 hit with this song...
"Ive Been Waiting For You" stopped just short of the pop top-40 in America in February of 1991. The show didn't last past a season, and neither did the Guys. Member Damon Sharpe has gone on to be a huge songwriter and record producer, co-writing Jennifer Lopez's "Love Don't Cost A Thing", Kylie Minogue's "Get Outta My Way", and won a Grammy for the soundtrack to the movie version of the musical Chicago.
