German Sweep: May 10, 2017...

Here's the top ten hits in Germany this week, according to their official singles chart, as Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee spend a second week at #1...

1. "Despacito" - Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankee (1)
2. "Shape Of You" - Ed Sheeran (2)
3. "No Roots" - Alice Merton (6)
4. "Tuesday" - Burak Yeter featuring Danelle Sandoval (3)
5. "Swalla" - Jason Derulo featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign (4)
6. "Something Just Like This" - The Chainsmokers & Coldplay (5)
7. "I'm The One" - DJ Khaled featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper, and Lil' Wayne (DEBUT)
8. "Galway Girl" - Ed Sheeran (9)
9. "It Ain't Me" - Kygo & Selena Gomez (8)
10. "You Don't Know Me" - Jax Jones featuring RAYE (7)

Palestinian-American DJ Khaled makes a big splash on the German chart at #7 with "I'm The One" featuring Justin Bieber and rappers Quavo, Lil' Wayne, and Chance The Rapper. It's Khaled's first top ten hit in this country...

Just under the top ten, rappers Bonez MC and RAF Camora sail into the top-40 at #11 with "Kontrollieren" ("Check") featuring Gzuz and Maxwell..


Further down the list, Berlin rapper UFO 361 slips into the top-40 at #38 with "Der Pate" ("The Godfather")...


Meanwhile, on the albums chart in this country, rapper Kontra K from Berlin lands on top with Gute Nacht...


The aforementioned UFO 361 takes the runner-up spot with his Ich Bin 3 Berliner set. It's his first top ten effort in three tries...


British modern rock act Gorillaz roll in at #3 with their Humanz album. It's the animated act's fourth top ten album in Germany; in 2005 they peaked at #2 with Demon Days...


The soundtrack to the second Guardians Of The Galaxy movie rockets in at #6. It doesn't hurt that American actor David Hasselhoff, beloved by the Germans, makes an appearance on the set...


Dutch progressive metal act Ayreon moves enters the top ten at #10 with ninth studio album The Source. It's their first time in this level...
