Today's song of the day comes from the B-52's, who parlayed their quirky underground fame to pop radio love in 1989 with back-to-back top-3 pop singles in "Love Shack" and "Roam". The third single from their Cosmic Thing album was the snarky mid-tempo alternative rock of "Deadbeat Club". Written by the band and produced by Nile Rodgers, the single was a cool nostalgic piece for that post-80s generation...


"Deadbeat Club" became the third top-40 pop hit from Cosmic Thing in June of 1990. Internationally, the single reached the top-40 in New Zealand (#21) and Canada (#35).
