Robbed hit of the week 11/14/16 - Soulsisters' "The Way To Your Heart"...

"The Way To Your Heart" - Soulsister
from the album It Takes Two (1988)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #41

This week's 'robbed hit' comes from the Belgian "sophisti-pop" duo Soulsister, who got together in the mid-80s, and had a couple of minor hits in their country before hitting #1 with the bouncy dance song "The Way To Your Heart". Written by Jan Leyers and Paul Michiels of the duo themselves, the song caught on internationally, eventually making it to the States...

While "The Way To Your Heart" was a big hit on American Adult Contemporary (or "easy listening") radio, reaching #5 on Billboard's chart, the single stalled right under the pop top-40 at #41 for two weeks in November of 1989. They wouldn't been seen again in the U.S., but continued their modestly successful European career to this day. Also, Leyers co-wrote a #1 country hit for Aaron Tippin in 1995, "That's As Close As I'll Get To Lovin' You"...
