French Sweep: October 11, 2016...


Here's the top 10 hits in France this week, according to their official singles chart, as a new song enters the chart all the way at #1...

1. "DKR" - Booba (DEBUT)
2. "Lost On You" - LP (2)
3. "Starboy" - The Weeknd featuring Daft Punk (1)
4. "Encore Un Soir" - Celine Dion (5)
5. "Let Me Love You" - DJ Snake featuring Justin Bieber (3)
6. "Heartbeat" - Richard Orlinski and Eva Simons (6)
7. "The Greatest" - Sia featuring Kendrick Lamar (7)
8. "Un Homme Debout" - Claudio Capeo (10)
9. "Don't Be So Shy" - Imany (RE-ENTRY)
10. "Lordly" - Feder featuring Alex Aiono (DEBUT)

Booba, the rapper from the Parisian suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt, scores his third #1 hit with "DKR". His last single "E.L.E.P.H.A.N.T." also went to the top, as did "OKLM" in 2014. Must be something with acronyms...

DJ/producer Feder, from the southern city of Nice, returns to the top 10 at #10 with "Lordly" featuring vocals from Alex Aiono. It's Feder's third consecutive top 10 French hit - his first, "Goodbye", went all the way to the #1 spot...



Further down the chart, French A-lister DJs David Guetta and Cedric Gervais collaborate with soul/house singer Chris Willis at #20 with "Would I Lie To You?". It's a remake of the Charles & Eddie hit from 1992, which peaked at #2 in France...


Rapper Kaaris, born in the African nation of the Ivory Coast before moving to Paris, moves in at #26 with "Blow". It's his seventh top-40 hit here...


MHD, a rap artist from eastern Paris, lands his second top-40 hit at #40 with "A Kele NTA"...


Meanwhile, on the albums chart in France, rap duo PNL return to #1 with Dans La Legende...

Alternative hip-hop artist Kery James, born in the island of Guadeloupe before moving to Orly as a child, comes in at #3 with Mouhammad Alix. It's his sixth trip to the top ten - he went to #1 in 2009 with Reel...


Stage singer Helene Segara, from the Mediterranean town of Six-Fours-Les-Plages, enters at #8 with Amaretti. It's her seventh top-10 album...
