Brit Sweep: October 8, 2016...

On the official British singles chart, former X Factor UK winner James Arthur spends a second week at #1 with "Say You Won't Let Go"...

The second One Direction member to have a solo hit is blonde boy Niall Horan, whose "This Town" snuck in at #100 last week, and this frame rockets to #9...

The highest "true" debut of the week at #24 is the hot American electro-pop duo The Chainsmokers with "All We Know" featuring vocals from Phoebe Ryan (from Red Bank, New Jersey). Their current radio hit "Closer" stands at #3...


Swedish dance-pop duo Galantis follow up their top-5 hit "No Money" with the record at #47, "Love On Me" featuring Australian DJ Hook N Sling...


British pop band Busted are back at #60 with "On What You're On". Between 2002 and 2004, they scored eight consecutive top-5 hits, then dropped out of sight. Member Matt Willis is married to Emma, host of Big Brother in the UK...


And talk about comebacks, Robbie Williams returns at #68 with "Party Like A Russian". He's racked up a massive 32 top-10 hits in the UK....


 While Craig David captures the top spot on the albums chart (more later), a track from the set, "16", arrives at #79. It's a mashup of his own "Fill Me In" with the Skrillex/Justin Bieber track "Where R U Now?"...



 While Canadian R&B/pop star The Weeknd climbs to #2 with "Starboy", his new "False Alarm" comes in at #81...


Rapper Giggs had a #2 album in the UK with Landlord, and from it "Lock Doh" featuring Donaeo enters at #88...


Nathan Sykes, former lead singer of the Wanted, will release his debut solo album in November, and "Famous" slides in at #93...


Joe Jonas' spinoff band DNCE shuffles in at #99 with "Body Moves"...


Meanwhile, on the albums chart in the UK, Craig David's sixth album becomes his second #1 set after his debut with Following My Intuition...


Indie-folk Grammy-winning band Bon Iver takes their third full-length album 22, A Million to #2 on the British list...


The country music invasion of the UK continued as The Shires, a duo from England land their second top-10 hit with My Universe at #3...


Irish musical icon Van Morrison returns at #4 with Keep Me Singing. It's his 14th trip into the top-10...
