twostepcub's music chart for September 2, 2016...


Friday's here, and it's time to run down my top 100 tunes from the week. Sia hangs in for an eighth week at #1, while Icelandic rockers Kaleo (pictured above) climb a pair of notches in the top ten. Former big hits from Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, DNCE, the Avett Brothers, Alan Walker, Mike Posner, and Chris Young/Cassadee Pope drop off my chart, while songs from Kristine W, The Revivalists, and Ariana Grande make the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red). Wake me up when September ends...

Although Matchbox Twenty leader Rob Thomas' The Great Unknown seems to be much less known than his previous work, the third single from the set, "Pieces", enters my chart as the top debut at #89...


While Coldplay's "Hymn To The Weekend" holds up at #12 this week, their new rock radio offering, "Up&Up", arrives at #91...


Even though Akon's collaboration with DJ Hardwerk, "Tell Me We're OK", is just getting started at #62, that doesn't stop him entering at #92 as a guest on Swiss DJ Antoine's "Holiday"...


The current #1 single on the American Hot 100 chart, "Closer" from the Chainsmokers with singer Halsey, makes it on my list at #93...


Pop singer/songwriter Gavin DeGraw returns at #94 with his new one, "She Sets The City On Fire"...


Alternative rockers Young The Giant are back at #95 with "Something To Believe In", the first radio single from their third album Home Of The Strange...


Country duo LoCash check in at #96 with "I Know Somebody"...


French DJ Snake and Major Lazer had one of the biggest hits on my chart last year with "Lean On". Now they each have a song on my list featuring Justin Bieber, as Snake's "Let Me Love You" slithers in at #98...


EDM newcomer Marshmello pops in at #99 with "Alone"...


The final newbie at #100 is Andy Grammer, who opens with "Fresh Eyes"...
