German Sweep: September 14, 2016...

Here's the top ten hits in Germany this week, according to their official singles chart, as French singer Imany makes it ten consecutive weeks at #1...

1. "Don't Be So Shy" - Imany (1)
2. "Let Me Love You" - DJ Snake featuring Justin Bieber (2)
3. "Bonfire" - Felix Jaehn featuring Alma (3)
4. "Cold Water" - Major Lazer featuring Justin Bieber & MØ (4)
5. "Closer" - The Chainsmokers featuring Halsey (6)
6. "The Ocean" - Mike Perry featuring Shy Martin (5)
7. "The Sound Of Silence" - Disturbed (7)
8. "Sucker For Pain" - Lil' Wayne, Wiz Khalifa & Imagine Dragons featuring Logic, Ty Dolla $ign & X Ambassadors (8)
9. "Heathens" - twenty-one pilots (DEBUT)
10. "Human" - Rag N'Bone Man (DEBUT)

There are now two top ten hits here from the movie Suicide Squad as the multi-artist "Sucker For Pain" gets joined at #9 by twenty-one pilots' "Heathens". It becomes their second top ten hit in Germany; "Stressed Out" went to #3 here earlier this year...

British blues-rock singer Rag'n'Bone Man climbs into the #10 spot with an amazing track I featured earlier in this series, "Human". It will be on his debut full-length album. Trust me, I feel this will be big here in America in a few months' time...

Further down the chart, Sportfreunde Stiller, a veteran indie-rock band from Bavaria, return at #15 with "Das Geschenk" ("The Gift"). They have reached the top ten three times, going to #1 with "'54, '74, '90, 2006" (a nod to the country's World Cup championship years) in 2006... (Sadly, the video isn't embeddable here, but you can watch on their record company site by clicking here...)

Wincent Weiss, who was a contestant on this country's version of the Idol franchise in 2013, and hails from the town of Eutin in the Holstein region, comes in at #38 with "Musik Sein" ("His Music"). Last year he reached the top ten at #6 as a guest on Gestort Aber GeiL's "Unter Meiner Haut"...

Meanwhile, on the albums chart in the country, Berliner rapper Fler scores his first #1 album with Vibe. (By the way, this song's title translated to "You Have The Most Beautiful Ass In The World".)

Another hip-hop artist, Kay One from the southern border city of Friedrichshafen, arrives at #3 with Der Junge von damals ("The Boy From Yesteryear"). It's his fifth consecutive top ten record...

Weed-obsessed rapper Herzog lands at #4 with Vollbluthustler ("Thoroughbred Hustler")...

Fantasy, a duo from North Rhine-Westphalia that does schlager pop music, re-enters the top ten at #5 with Freudensprünge  ("Joy Cracks")...

Jazz musician Till Brönner, also from North Rhine-Westphalia, enters at #6 with The Good Life. It's his third top-ten LP and highest rank to date...

A Day To Remember, an American metalcore band from Florida, shine in at #7 with Bad Vibrations.
