German Sweep: August 17, 2016...


Here's the top ten hits in Germany this week, according to their official singles chart, as French singer Imany claims a sixth week at #1...

2. "Cold Water" - Major Lazer featuring Justin Bieber & MØ (2)
3. "Bonfire" - Felix Jaehn featuring Alma (4)
4. "Treat You Right" - Shawn Mendes (5)
5. "This Girl" - KUNGS vs. Cookin' On 3 Burners (3)
6. "The Ocean" - Mike Perry featuring Shy Martin (DEBUT)
7. "Ain't Your Mama" - Jennifer Lopez (8)
8. "Let Me Love You" - DJ Snake featuring Justin Bieber (DEBUT)
9. "Perfect Strangers" - Jonas Blue featuring JP Cooper (DEBUT)
10. "Can't Stop The Feeling!" - Justin Timberlake (6)

Leaping into the top ten at #6 is Swedish 'tropical house' dance music artist who is a car mechanic by day, Mike Perry, with "The Ocean" featuring vocals from Shy Martin...

While Justin Bieber holds at #2 for a third week on Major Lazer's "Cold Water", he also sits in on DJ Snake's "Let Me Love You", which arrives at #8. It's Snake's second top ten hit in Germany; he went to #4 last year with Major Lazer on "Lean On"...


One notch under that is yet another trop-house single, "Perfect Strangers" from British DJ Jonas Blue with singer JP Cooper at #9. It follows his #2 remake of Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car" from earlier this year...


Kerstin Ott, a singer from Berlin, provided the vocals for Stereoact's #2 hit "Die Immer Lacht". Now she comes in on her own at #31 with "Scheissmelodie" ("Shit Melody")...It's not watchable in the states, but if you're in Germany, click here to take a listen...

Meanwhile, on the albums chart in Germany, Swedish psychedelic rock band Blues Pills go right to #1 in the first week with their third release Lady In Gold...


Frankfurt punk rockers Serum 114 inject themselves into the top ten at #3 with their fifth set Die Nacht Mein Freund ("The Night My Friend")...


Tarja, a "symphonic metal" singer from Finland, finds herself at #7 with her The Shadow Self album. All four of her solo albums have made the top ten in Germany...


Lastly debuting in the top ten is the soundtrack to the hit movie Suicide Squad at #9. "Sucker For Pain" leaps to #17 on the singles chart, while twenty-one pilots' "Heathens" jumps in the top-40 at #26...
