German Sweep: August 10, 2016...


Here's the top ten hits in Germany this week, according to their official singles chart, as French songstress Imany's remix of "Don't Be So Shy" holds out on top for a fifth week...

2. "Cold Water" - Major Lazer featuring Justin Bieber & MØ (2)
3. "This Girl" - KUNGS vs Cookin' On 3 Burners (3)
4. "Bonfire" - Felix Jaehn featuring Alma (DEBUT)
5. "Treat You Better" - Shawn Mendes (9)
6. "Can't Stop The Feeling!" - Justin Timberlake (6)
7. "Please Tell Rosie" - Alle Farben featuring YOUNOTUS (4)
8. "Ain't Your Mama" - Jennifer Lopez (5)
9. "One Dance" - Drake featuring Wizkid & Kyla (7)
10. "Don't Let Me Down" - The Chainsmokers featuring Daya (8)

 Burning into the top ten at #4 is German DJ/producer Felix Jaehn from the city of Hamburg, with his third top ten hit as a lead artist, "Bonfire" featuring singer Alma. Last year he topped the list with "Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better)"...

Meanwhile, on the albums chart in this country, Canadian rock band Billy Talent score their third #1 title with Afraid Of Heights...


Frei.wild, a sometimes controversial German-speaking rock band from northern Italy, land at #2 with 15 Jahre Deutschrock & SKAndale...


German heavy metal act Powerwolf growls in at #4 with their The Metal Mass - Live album. It's their third to make the top ten in their homeland - they topped the list in 2013 with Preachers Of The Night...


Veteran Californian punk band the Descendents return at #8 with Hypercaffium Spazzinate, their seventh album and first in 12 years...


It's a rock-filled top ten, with goth-rock act Lord of the Lost (also from Hamburg) creeping in at #9 with Empyrean. It's their first to reach this level on the chart...


Coming in at #20 is Schlager singers Freudenberg and Lais with Lebenslinien ("Lifeline")...



OK, after that break, back to some more mainstream-style rock with Zodiac from the North Rhine city of Munster with Grain Of Soul...
