Soul Sweep: June 4, 2016...

We're at the "hump" of this week's make-up "music sweeps", sampling the notable songs reaching the charts in Billboard magazine, and this time out I'm serving up the latest hits on R&B radio...

On their main R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart, Rihanna is finally dethroned at #1 by Brooklyn rapper Desiigner with "Panda"...

Washington, DC's own Wale previews his upcoming Shine album with the track at #42, "MY PYT". While it incorporates the lyrical tag on Michael Jackson's Thriller hit, the most loudest thing is the "Sexual Healing" bassline. Grade: D+

Lastly, on the Rhythmic format, whose stations include more dance-pop music in their playlists, Drake's "One Dance" holds at #1 for a second week...
