Songoftheday 5/10/16 - I`m standing outside your window I`ve been here all night long, June feels like December `cuz I`m out here all alone...

"Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" - Judson Spence
from the album Judson Spence (1988)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #32
Weeks in the Top-40: 4

Today's song of the day comes from pop singer/songwriter Judson Spence, who was one of the numerous long-haired white boys making their way onto pop radio in the late 80's. Like Robbie Nevil, Robert Tepper, and that guy from Boy Meets Girl, it seemed like its own kingdom ruled by Michael Bolton. Spence's claim to fame was his 1988 single "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah", written by him along with Monroe Jones, and the lite-"funk" pop song found its place on mainstream radio that was ever surely eschewing R&B records except for the biggies (Michael, Prince). How, I don't really know, since this is one of the most banal of ditties, without even a coherent chorus to sink his alright voice into...

"Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" became Judson's one and only charting single in December of 1988. He went on to have more success as a songwriter for country artists.

Up tomorrow: A R&B chanteuse describes her romance.
