Dance Sweep: May 14, 2016...


I'm ready to wrap up this week's 'music sweeps', checking out the notable songs making their debut on the charts in Billboard magazine. I'll end up with the latest dance jams in the clubs and on the radio...

On the DJ-polled Dance Club Songs chart, Australian duo Empire Of The Sun finally rise to #1 with their 2009 single "Walking On A Dream". The track originally went to #18. They also went to #1 on this chart in 2013 with "Alive"...

Sia claims the top debut of the week at #39 with the remixes of her current single, "Cheap Thrills", the second single from her This Is Acting album. The first, "Alive", peaked at #28 here earlier this year. Grade: B-

 A former "Dance Pick of the Week" when it showed up on the airplay chart, "I Wanna Know" from Swedish DJ/producer Alesso, arrives on the club chart at #46. It features vocals from Norwegian duo Nico & Vinz...


Australian rock singer Clairy Browne (of the Bangin' Rackettes) finds herself in the clubs with her solo hit "F.U.B." at #47. Grade: C


Another former "Dance Pick", Norwegian producer Alan Walker's "Faded", lands on the club chart at #48. Grade: B+


Remixers Toy Armada & DJ Grind team up with singer Inaya Day to remake the M People classic "One Night In Heaven", which takes my "Dance Pick of the Week" this time out. Grade: B-


Alternative rock singer/songwriter Halsey chimes in at #50 with the remixes of her single "Colors". Grade: C


Meanwhile, on the radio-monitored Dance Airplay/Mixshow chart, the Chainsmokers spend a third week on top with "Don't Let Me Down"...

Dutch progressive house artist Martin Garrix is back at #33 with his new one, "Now That I've Found You" featuring John and Michel. Grade: C


 Iggy Azalea moves in at #34 with her new "Team". Grade: D-


Scottish DJ/producer Calvin Harris and Rihanna slip in at #36 with their brand new "This Is What You Came For". Grade: C-
