Dance Sweep: June 4, 2016..


Well, I'm finally caught up to the last of this week's 'music sweeps', sampling the songs making their way on to the charts in Billboard magazine. I'll finish up with the latest dance jams in the clubs and on the radio...

On the DJ-polled Dance Club Play chart, house music king Tony Moran and singer Jason Walker climb to #1 with "So Happy"...

British neo-house act Gorgon City recruit singer Vaults for the top debut and my "Dance Pick of the Week", "All Four Walls" at #36. Last year they topped this chart with "Go All Night". Grade: A

Representing old-school house at #38 is the remixing team of Rosabel with Jeanie Tracy with "Livin' For Your Love". Grade: B+



 Nick Jonas and Tove Lo squirm in at #41 with the remixes of their pop hit "Close". Jonas has went to #1 with his last three dance mixes of "Jealous", "Chains", and "Levels". Grade: B-


German songstress Billie Ray Martin is back at #44 with her new one, "The Glittering Gutter". Back in 1995, her classic "Your Loving Arms" topped the dance chart. Grade: A


Folk-rock newcomers the Rua find themselves at #45 with the remixes of their track "Without You". Grade: B


Justin Timberlake's former #1 pop hit "Can't Stop The Feeling!" makes the club list at #49. He's topped this chart four times previously, most recently with "LoveStoned" in 2007. Grade: B+


And at #50 is actor/singer Jason Dottley (the ex of Sordid Lives creator Del Shores) with "Cocaine and Whiskey". He's been to #22 on this list twice, with "Pop It" in 2012 and "It's Our Night" a year later. Grade: F


Meanwhile, on the radio-monitored Dance Airplay/Mixshow chart, the Chainsmokers hold on top for a fifth non-consecutive week with "Don't Let Me Down" with Daya...

The sole new entry at #36 is Canadian duo DVBBS with Shaun Frank on "La La Land" featuring Delaney Jane. Grade: C
