Rock Sweep: January 30, 2016...

Round two of this week's "music sweeps" is up, checking out the songs making their way on to the singles charts in Billboard magazine, and this time I've got the latest hits on rock radio...

On the main Rock Airplay chart, twenty-one pilots stay at #1 for a fourth non-consecutive week with "Stressed Out"...

...as their new single "Ride" is the highest entry at #30...

(Click below to see the rest of the post)

Canadian alt-country/rock band the Strumbellas chime in at #38 with "Spirits"...

The third single from modern rock act AWOLnation's Run album, "Woman Woman", comes on to the main chart at #49, as it moves up to #34 on the Alternative list...

And now on to the rock radio format charts...

On the harder-edged Mainstream Rock radio panel, Five Finger Death Punch is on top for a second week with "Wash It All Away"...

Hard rock band Adelitas Way preview their upcoming fourth studio album Getaway with the track "Bad Reputation" at #35. In 2012 they climbed to #1 with "Criticize"...

Texan blues-rock band Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown move in at #38 with "Loaded Dice and Buried Money"...

The fifth single from Slipknot's .5: The Grey Chapter record, "Goodbye", slips in at #40. The second, "The Devil In I", climbed to #2...

Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart,  "Stressed Out" spends its eleventh week at #1, while the aforementioned twenty-one pilots' "Ride" and Strumbellas' "Spirits" comes in at #32 and #33...

Lastly, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, Coldplay reigns for a fifth week with "Adventure Of A Lifetime"...

English indie-rock group Foals trot in at #23 with "Mountain At My Gates", which also moves up to #11 on the Alternative chart...

Adele went to #1 on this airplay chart with "Hello" (of course the editors at Billboard won't let it on their "Rock Songs" list), and now is at #25 with "When We Were Young"...

The late great David Bowie claims my "Rock Pick of the Week" at #26 with "Lazarus" from his Blackstar opus...

Nashville-based alternative rock band The Wild Feathers fly in at #29 with "Overnight". In 2013 they reached #7 on this list with "The Ceiling"...

I'll return with the latest hits on R&B radio...
