Rock Sweep: January 23, 2016...

Round two of today's "music sweeps" is up, checking out the songs reaching the charts in Billboard magazine. This time up I've got the latest hits on rock radio...

On their main Rock Airplay chart, twenty-one pilots move back to #1 for a third non-consecutive week with "Stressed Out"...

Indie-rock singer/songwriter BORNS has the top new entry at #43 with "10,000 Emerald Pools". The track jumps to #18 on the Triple-A format chart, while is moves to #32 on the Alternative/Modern Rock list...

Brooklyn-based indie-pop band Lucius comes in at #46 with "Born Again Teen", my "Rock Pick of the Week"...

Chef'Special, a ska-rock group from the Netherlands, arrives at #47 with "In Your Arms"...

And now on to the rock radio format charts...

On the harder-edged Mainstream Rock radio panel, Five Finger Death Punch score their fourth chart-topper with "Wash It All Away"...

The third single from Papa Roach's F.E.A.R. (Face Everything And Rise) album, "Falling Apart", drops in at #38. The title track went to #1 last year...

Akron, Ohio newcomers Red Sun Rising follow up the #1 success of their debut single, "The Otherside", with the track at #40, "Emotionless"...

Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart, the aforementioned "Stressed Out" is on top for a tenth week...

The sole newbie here at #40 is from AWOLnation, as the band comes in with "Woman Woman", the third single from their Run album. The lead single "Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)" made it all the way to #1...

Lastly, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, Coldplay spend a fourth non-consecutive week at #1 with "Adventure Of A Lifetime", while no songs make their debut...

I'll return with the latest on R&B radio...
