Rock Sweep: January 16, 2016...

Round two of this week's "music sweeps" are up, checking out the songs making their way on the various charts in Billboard magazine. This time up I'm rolling out the latest hits on rock radio...

On their main Rock Airplay chart, Cold War Kids spend a ninth non-consecutive week at #1 with "First"...

Swedish indie-pop trio Miike Snow moves in at #48 with "Genghis Khan". The song also climbs to #30 on the Alternative chart in its third week...

At #50 is heavy metal band Trivium with "Until The World Goes Cold". The track stands at #16 on the Mainstream Rock list...

and now on to the rock radio format charts...

On the harder-edged Mainstream Rock radio panel, Disturbed holds on top for a fifth week with "The Light"...

Popping in at #40 is British metalcore act Bring Me The Horizon with "Happy Song", my "Rock Pick of the Week". It follows up their first #1 hit "Throne", which is still riding high at #9...

Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart, twenty one pilots remain on top for a ninth week with "Stressed Out", while there are no debuts on the chart...

Finally, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, Coldplay moves back to #1 for a third non-consecutive week with "Adventure of a Lifetime"...

Irish indie-rock singer/songwriter Hozier is back at #29 with "Jackie and Wilson", the fourth hit from his self-titled album. He also has "Someone New" on the chart at #9...

I'll return next with the latest on R&B radio...
