Soul Sweep: January 2, 2016...

Carrying over from yesterday, we're at the "hump" of this week's 'music sweeps', checking out the songs making their way on to the various singles charts in Billboard magazine, and this time out I'm serving up the latest on R&B radio...

On their main R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart, Drake remains on top for an eleventh week with "Hotline Bling"...

Rapper Young Thug moves in at #43 with his latest, "Best Friend".  His first solo single "Stoner" reached #10...

The Weeknd jumps in at #47 with "Acquainted". His previous #1 singles "The Hills" and "Earned It" stand back to back at #15 and #16 this week...

Hip-hop singer August Alsina returns at #49 with "Song Cry"...

Meanwhile, on the older-skewing Adult R&B radio panel, Tyrese spends a ninth non-consecutive week at #1 with "Shame"...

Singer/producer/writer Babyface is back at #23 with his latest, "Exceptional", my "Soul Pick of the Week"...

Lastly, on the Rhythmic format, whose stations add more dance\pop music in their playlists, rapper Post Malone claims his first #1 with "White Iverson"...

Canadian duo Majid Jordan arrives at #37 with "Something About You"...

I'll be back with the latest on country radio...
