Rock Sweep: November 21, 2015...


Round two of this week's "music sweeps" is up with the latest hits on rock radio as monitored by Billboard magazine.

On their main Rock Airplay chart, the Cold War Kids hang on to the top spot for a third week with "First"...

British modern rock kings Coldplay return up at #24 with the first single from their upcoming A Head Full of Dreams album, "Adventure Of A Lifetime"...

Newcomers Nothing But Thieves make their debut at #34 with "Trip Switch", my "Rock Pick of the Week"...


South African grunge-rockers Seether place the fourth song from their Isolate and Medicate album, "Save Today", on the chart at #43. The first, "Words As Weapons", made it to #12 on this chart...


Shinedown come in at #44 with "State Of My Head", which moves up to #16 on the Mainstream Rock chart. It follows "Cut The Cord", which peaked at #8 on the main rock list...


Indie-blues artist Leon Bridges takes his top-10 Triple-A hit "Smooth Sailin'" to the main chart at #50. He put his first hit "Coming Home" at #38 here...


and now on to the rock radio format charts...

On the harder-edged Mainstream Rock radio panel, Breaking Benjamin are at #1 for a third week with "Angels Fall"...

Godsmack return at #32 with "Inside Yourself". The neo-grunge act has topped this format seven times, most recently with "1000hp"...


Kentucky garage rock band Cage The Elephant are in at #34 with "Mess Around", which is already in the top-10 on the alternative chart. They've reached the top-10 here three times before, with "No Rest For The Wicked" topping out at #8...


 The third single from The Order Of Things from metalcore band All That Remains is "Victory Lap", which runs in at #35. The first, "This Probably Won't End Well", stopped at #11...


Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart, twenty-one pilots land their first #1 hit with "Stressed Out", while the aforementioned Nothing But Thieves and Coldplay singles come in at #24 and #29 respectively...

Finally, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, Adele climbs to #1 with "Hello". It's her third song to do so after "Rolling In The Deep" and "Rumour Has It". The aforementioned "Mess Around" from Cage The Elephant also leaps in at #17...

London indie-rockers Wolf Alice enter at #25 with "Bros"...


Canadian alt-country/rock artist City and Colour (aka Dallas Green) comes in at #27 with "Lover Come Back"...


Lord Huron sinks in at #28 with "The World Ender". Earlier this year they climbed to #3 with "Fool For Love"...
