Robbed hit of the week 11/2/15 - U2's "In God's Country"...

"In God's Country" - U2
from the album The Joshua Tree (1987)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #44

This week's "robbed hit" comes from the Irish alternative rock band U2, whose landmark album The Joshua Tree not only won the hearts of critics but also American radio, scoring a pair of #1 pop hits with "With Or Without You" and "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", as well as the concert fave top-20 hit "Where The Street Have No Name". The fourth single from the record, "In God's Country", was a pulsing tribute to America where symbolism trumps all...

While "In God's Country" returned U2 to the top-ten of Billboard's Mainstream Rock radio chart, the song just missed the American pop top 40 at #44, like it also did in the UK at #48. In Canada the song did a bit better at #25.
