Dance Sweep: November 14, 2015...


I'm ready to wrap up today's five-part "music sweep" of the songs making their debuts on the charts in Billboard magazine, and I'll close out with the latest dance jams in the clubs and on the radio...

On the DJ-polled Dance Club Play chart, last week NERVO along with Kylie Minogue, Jake Shears, and Nile Rodgers topped the chart with "The Other Boys", to be replaced this week with Sted-E & Hybrid Heights with Crystal Waters on "Synergy"...

When I was off last week, the top new entry at #41 was a remake of the club classic "Spin Spin Sugar" by DJ Scotty Boy with Sue Cho. It leaps up to #28 this week. The original from the Sneaker Pimps spent two weeks at #2 in 1997. Last year, Scotty and Sue's redo of another nugget, "Shiny Disco Balls", topped the chart...

Canadian singer/songwriter Coeur de Pirate (aka Beatrice Martin) sees remixes of her song "Carry On" reach the club chart, moving from #43 to #36...



This week's highest debut is from Demi Lovato, whose "Confident" drops in at #37. It's the follow-up to her #1 "Cool for the Summer"...


DJ's Dimitri Vegas (from Belgium) and Like Mike (from Greece) recruit American R&B singer Ne-Yo for their latest, "Higher Place", which jumps from #50 to #38...


Major Lazer follows up his multi-format smash "Lean On" with "Powerful" featuring Ellie Goulding and Tarrus Bailey, which climbs from #46 to #41...


Neo-soul singer Tamia shuffles from #49 to #43 with her latest, "Love Falls Over Me". The Canadian went to #1 on the dance chart in 2001 with "Stranger In My House"...


Actress and singer Jane Badler climbs a notch to #46 with "Return To Passion"...


Another actress/singer double-threat, Hailee Steinfeld (from Pitch Perfect 2), takes the mixes of her top-40 pop hit "Love Myself" to this list at #47...


Canadian duo DVBBS went to #4 on this list with their collab with Borgeous, "Tsunami", and now are in at #49 on their own with "Never Leave"...


...and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis return at #50 with "Downtown" featuring singer Eric Nally and old school rappers Melle Mel, Kool Moe Dee and Grandmaster Caz. They took their #1 pop hit "Thrift Shop" to #27 on the club chart before...


Meanwhile, on the radio-monitored Dance Airplay/Mixshow chart, Justin Bieber's "What Do You Mean?" remains on top for a third week...

...as his new single "Sorry" leaps in at #17...


British drum-and-bass act Rudimental move up from #27 to #20 with their collab with Ed Sheeran, "Lay It All On Me", my "Dance Pick of the Week"...


Canadian progressive house duo Dzeko and Torres land at #23 with "L'Amour Toujours" featuring Delaney Jane...


Selena Gomez moves up to #28 from #31 with her latest, "Same Old Love"...


The former #1 rock hit "Ex's and Oh's" from Elle King crosses over to the dance radio list, jumping from #38 to #29...


Alessia Cara's pop hit "Here" moves up from #37 to #30...


The last entry at #38 is rapper Fetty Wap with his top-5 pop hit "679" featuring Remy Boyz...
