Soul Sweep: July 18, 2015...


We're at the "hump" of today's "music sweeps", sampling the songs making their way on to the various charts in Billboard magazine, and this time I'm serving up the latest hits on R&B radio...

On their main R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart, the Weeknd spends a 13th week at #1 with "Earned It"...

While rapper Fetty Wap's former #1 hit "Trap Queen" falls to #10, and his "My Way" track holds at #7, a third song, "679" featuring Remy Boyz, lands at #47...

Former GAP Band lead singer-turned slow-jam master Charlie Wilson is back at #50 with "My Favorite Part Of You". It also jumps back up to #16 on the Adult R&B chart...



Meanwhile, on the older-skewing Adult R&B radio panel, "Earned It" is on top for an eighth week...

Canadian lothario Robin Thicke sneaks in at #29 with "Morning Sun",,,


Lastly. on the Rhythmic format, whose stations include more dance/pop music in their playlists,DJ Snake and AlunaGeorge remain at #1 for a second week with "You Know You Like It"...

As Jason Derulo falls to #14 with "Want To Want Me", which went to #4 on this list, his new song "Cheyenne", my "Soul Pick of the Week",  arrives at #32...


Rap veteran E-40 comes in at #37 with "Choices (Yup)". Back in 2006 he climbed to #3 with "U and Dat"...


The final newbie at #38 is Kendrick Lamar with "Alright". It's the radio follow-up to "i", which peaked at #5 on this list...
