Rock Sweep: July 4, 2015...


Round two of today's "chart sweeps" is up with the latest hits on rock radio as monitored by Billboard magazine...

On their main Rock Airplay chart, New York alt-rockers X Ambassadors land their first #1 hit with "Renegades"...

Rocketing in at #8 is the brand new single from Album of the Year Grammy-winning artist Beck with "Dreams", my "Rock Pick of the Week". He last was on here with "Blue Moon" at #25...

Heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch return at #39 with "Jeckyll and Hyde". It's the first track released from their upcoming Got Your Six album. Their best so far here has been their last, "Wrong Side Of Heaven", at #12...


Hard rock supergroup Saint Asonia slips in at #50 with "Better Place", which also jumps to #15 on the Mainstream Rock chart...


...and now on to the rock radio format charts...

On the Mainstream Rock radio panel,  Breaking Benjamin remains on top for a seventh week with "Failure", while the aforementioned Five Finger Death Punch track leaps in at #14...

Post hardcore act I Prevail move in at #37 with their cover of Taylor Swift's "Blank Space". The song already had reached the Hot 100...


Christian alt-metal veterans P.O.D. return at #39 with "This Goes Out To You" from their upcoming tenth studio album The Awakening. In 2012 they went to #3 with "Lost In Forever"...


Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart,  "Renegades" holds for a second week at #1, while Beck arrives at #13...

As modern rock band Walk The Moon's former #1 hit "Shut Up And Dance" drops to #10, their next release "Different Colors" checks in at #36...


Lastly, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, Houndmouth sticks at the top for a second week with "Sedona", and Beck's "Dreams" floats in at #7...

Alabama Shakes took their "Don't Wanna Fight" to #2 on this chart (it stays at #18 this week), and their follow-up, "Future People", is in at #27...


Australian singer/songwriter Meg Mac makes her debut at #29 with "Roll Up Your Sleeves"...
