Pop Sweep: July 4, 2015...

I'm ready to kick off the first of today's "chart sweeps", checking out the songs making their debut on the various music charts in Billboard magazine. Actress and singer Hilary Duff is back at #93 with "Sparks". The former Disney TV/movie star has scored three top-40 hits on this chart, with "With Love" reaching #24 in 2007...

The final new one on the big chart is from rapper Sage The Gemini, who teams up with another Disney alum, Nick Jonas, for "Good Thing" at #100. Earlier this year Sage was featured on Flo Rida's top-10 pop hit "G.D.F.R."...

Flo Rida rides in at #38 with "I Don't Like It, I Love It", featuring Robin Thicke and Verdine White (the latter from Earth, Wind & Fire). It follows "G.D.F.R." which made it to #8 on this list...

American Idol season-14 winner Nick Fradiani moves in at #39 with "Beautiful Life", which also moves up a couple of notches on the adult-40 list at #38...

The aforementioned "Good Thing" from Sage the Gemini enters at #40...

Meanwhile, on the older-skewing Adult Top-40 format, Andy Grammer collects his first #1 hit with "Honey, I'm Good"...

Canadian alt-soul artist the Weeknd shuffles in at #39 with "Can't Feel My Face", which leaps to #12 on the Hot 100. His breakthrough hit "Earned It" peaked at #9 on this format and falls to #18...

Elle King takes her alt-rock top-10 hit "Ex's and Oh's" to this chart at #40. She's the daughter of Rob Schneider...

Lastly, on the Adult Contemporary, or "easy listening" radio chart, Ed Sheeran reigns for a 16th week with "Thinking Out Loud"...

The sole newbie at #26 is American Idol's first winner, Kelly Clarkson, with "Invincible". It's the follow-up to her "Heartbeat Song", which went to #2 here and is currently at #6...

That's it for the start of today's musical journey...I'll be back in 90 minutes with the latest on rock radio...
