Dance Sweep: June 20, 2015...


I'm ready to wrap up the last of my "catch up" chart sweeps from last week, checking out the songs making their way on to the charts in Billboard magazine, with the latest dance jams in the clubs and on the radio...

On the DJ-polled Dance Club Play chart, Nile Rodgers and Chic return to #1 after a 23-year break with "I'll Be There". Besides their chart-topping "Chic Mystique" from 1992, they went to the top of the then disco chart with both their first two albums Chic and C'est Chic...

Another disco production legend, 75-year-old Giorgio Moroder, follows up his #1 hit "Right Here, Right Now" with Kylie Minogue with the title track from his album Deja Vu with another Aussie hitmaker, singer/songwriter Sia, which jumps on the chart at #33, and is my "Dance Pick of the Week"...

Redfoo, one half of the "Party Rock Anthem" duo LMFAO, gets his first solo hit at #43 with "Juicy Wiggle".  The track was a top-40 hit in Australia...


Philly native Felicia Punzo makes her debut at #48 with "Sound My Heart Makes"...


Club legends Martha Wash, Evelyn "Champagne" King, and Linda Clifford come together as the "First Ladies Of Disco" at #49 for "Show Some Love"...


At #50 is newcomer Dario with "(Let The Music) Save You"...


Meanwhile, on the radio-monitored Dance Airplay/Mixshow chart, DJ Snake and AlunaGeorge remain on top for a second week with "You Know You Like It"...

Zedd follows up his #2 hit "I Want You To Know" (with Selena Gomez) which sits at #22 with his new track at #28, "Beautiful Now" featuring Jon Bellion...


Pitbull enters at #33 with "Fun" featuring Chris Brown...


Andy Grammer's pop-rock hit "Honey, I'm Good" drops in here at #35...


The final newbie at #36 is Maroon 5 with "This Summer's Gonna Hurt...". Their last single, "Sugar", falls to #29 this week; it peaked at #3...
