Rock Sweep: May 16, 2015...

Round two of today's "chart sweeps" checking out the latest hits on the Billboard charts is up with the newest on rock radio...

On their main Rock Airplay chart Mumford & Sons are on top for a fifth week with "Believe"...

Indie folk band Lord Huron come in at #47 with "Fool For Love". The single is already in the top-10 on the Triple-A format, where it jumps to #7 this week...

Singer/songwriter BØRNS, who like Lord Huron hails from Michigan, enters at #49 with "Electric Love", which also climbs to #33 on the Alternative chart in its second week..

At #50 is neo-metal "supergroup" HellYeah with "Hush". The song is up at #17 on the Mainstream Rock list in its seventh week. It follows "Moth", which peaked at #31 on this chart...

And now on to the rock radio format charts...

On the Mainstream Rock radio panel "Heavy Is The Head" by the Zac Brown Band holds at #1 for a second week...

Halestorm follows up their #1 MR hit "Apocalyptic" with "Amen", which ascends to #29...

The third single from South African post-grunge band Seether's Isolate and Medicate album, "Nobody Praying For Me", lands at #34. The first, "Words as Weapons", topped this list last year..

Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart, AWOLnation remains on top for a second week with "Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)"...

British indie-rock act Life In Film claim their first chart hit as "Get Closer" moves in at #38...

The first single from Brandon Flowers' second solo album away from the Killers, "Can't Deny My Love", is in at #39, and its my "Rock Pick of the Week". His solo debut produced the #6 hit "Crossfire" in 2010.. (I'm not sure I forgive him though for professing how Mitt Romney would've been a great president...)

Indie-pop duo MS MR from Brooklyn are back at #40 with "Painted". Back in 2013 they went to #8 with "Hurricane"...

Lastly, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, Florence + The Machine move to #1 with "What Kind Of Man" (her third on this format after "Dog Days Are Over" and "Shake It Out"), while the aforementioned BORNS track is the sole newbie at #30...

I'll return with the latest on R&B radio...
