Aussie Sweep: February 26, 2015...


It's time to head Down Under to check out the songs making their way on to the official singles chart in Australia this week, as British singer Ellie Goulding lands her first #1 hit here with "Love Me Like You Do" from the 50 Shades Of Grey soundtrack...

Florence & The Machine, the alternative rock act from England, claims the top debut of the week at #16 with "What Kind Of Man". They've had three top-10 hits in this country, with "Never Let Me Go" reaching #3, while lead singer Florence Welch's collaboration with Calvin Harris, "Sweet Nothing", went a notch higher in this country...

British singer Jessie J comes in at #18 with "Masterpiece", the third single from her Sweet Talker album. The first, "Bang Bang" with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, peaked at #4 last year...


French club star David Guetta arrives at #37 with "What I Did For Love" featuring vocals from Scottish singer Emeli Sande. It's the fifth single from his Listen album; the other four all made the top-10, with "Lovers On The Sun" reaching #2...


Australian singer.songwriter Vance Joy from Melbourne returns at #40 with "Georgia", the fourth single from his debut album Dream Your Life Away to make the top-50. His international breakthrough "Riptide" went to #6 in this country...


Fellow countrywoman Jessica Mauboy from the Northern Territories, who was the runner-up on the fourth season of Australian Idol,  lands at #41 with "The Day Before I Met You", the sixth top-50 hit from her Beautiful album. The second, "Pop A Bottle (Fill Me Up)", climbed to #2 in 2013...


The final debut at #50 is Grammy darling Sam Smith with "Lay Me Down", the fourth hit from his In The Lonely Hour album. One of them, "Stay With Me", topped out at #5 here...
