Soul Sweep: January 24, 2015...

We're at the "hump" of today's "chart sweeps", sampling the songs making their debut on the various charts in Billboard magazine, and right now I'm serving up the latest hits on R&B radio...

On their main R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart, Big Sean jumps back to #1 for a second non-consecutive week with "I Don't F**k With You" with E-40...

The sole new entry on this chart at #46 is Sam Smith with A$AP Rocky (?) for "I'm Not The Only One". Sam's also on the chart at #13 with "Latch" with Disclosure and on his own at #15 with "Stay With Me", both former top-ten hits...

Meanwhile, on the older-skewing Adult R&B radio panel, Avery Sunshine spends a third non-consecutive week at #1 with "Call My Name"...

Only one song comes on to this chart, and it's Calvin Richardson with "Hearsay", my "Soul Pick of the Week". It follows "We're Gonna Love Tonite", which climbed to #14 last year...

Lastly, on the Rhythmic format, whose stations include more dance/pop hits in their mix, Ariana Grande and The Weeknd rule for a fourth week with "Love Me Harder"...

O.T. Genasis, a rapper from the Central American country of Belize, lands at #32 with "CoCo"...

Dutch singer Natalie La Rose teams up with R&B singer Jeremih at #35 for "Somebody". It interpolates the Whitney Houston classic "I Wanna Dance With Somebody"...

Selena Gomez' pop hit "The Heart Wants What It Wants" crosses over here at #36...

Chris Brown and rapper Tyga climb in to #37 with "Ayo"...

Lastly, Nicki Minaj's "Truffle Butter" spreads itself in at #39...

I'll be back in 90 with the latest on country radio...
