Rock Sweep: December 13, 2014...


Round two of this week's "chart sweeps" is up with the latest songs hitting rock radio on Billboard magazine's charts...

On their main Rock Airplay tally, the Foo Fighters spend a sixth week at #1 with "Something From Nothing"...

The top new entry at #42 is the third single from Linkin Park's The Hunting Party album, "Final Masquerade". The first, "Guilty All The Same", reached #8 on this list...

Alt-hip-hop artist Yelawolf lands at #48 with "Till It's Gone". The track also climbs to #32 on the Alternative chart in its second week...


British metalcore act Asking Alexandria rocks in at #50 with "Moving On", the third radio hit from their From Death To Destiny set. It also moves to #13 on the Mainstream Rock format...


And now on to the rock radio format charts...

On the Mainstream Rock radio panel "Something From Nothing" also reigns for a sixth week...

Australian hard rock legends AC/DC follow up their top-5 hit "Play Ball" with the song at #37, "Rock Or Bust", the title track to their current album....


From right across the sea in New Zealand come Like A Storm, as "Wish You Hell" lands at #38. It's my "Rock Pick of the Week". Their last single, "Love The Way You Hate Me", climbed to #21...


Guitar god Slash's went to #1 with "World On Fire" with Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators. Now they're back at #39 with "Bent To Fly"...


Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart, the Foos are on top for a second week...

As Weezer's "Back To The Shack" drops to #25 after peaking at #5, their new single "Da Vinci" paints itself in at #38...


British alt-rock band You Me At Six went to #4 on the Mainstream Rock chart with "Room To Breathe". Now they cross over to Alternative at #40...


Lastly, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format,  George Ezra is on top for a second week with "Budapest"...

As their former #1 "The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone)" drops out of the top-10 this week, U2's next single "Every Breaking Wave" rolls in at #30. The track is also at #28 on the Alternative chart...
