Soul Sweep: November 29, 2014...


We're at the "hump" of today's "chart sweeps", checking out the songs making the various radio charts in Billboard magazine, and this time out I'm serving up the latest hits on R&B stations...

On the main R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart, DJ Khaled spends a third week at #1 with "Hold You Down"...

Rapped Schoolboy Q claims the top entry of the week at #45 with "Hell Of A Night". It's the sixth single from his #1 album Oxymoron. He took "Studio" to #10 earlier this year...

Singer/dancer Mila J comes in at #46 with "My Main" featuring rapper Ty Dolla Sign...


Neo-soul singer Tank rolls in at #47 with "Stronger". The track also moves up to #16 on the Adult R&B chart. Back in 2007 he climbed to #2 with "Please Don't Go"...


Meanwhile, on the older-skewing Adult R&B radio panel, Sam Smith remains on top for an eighth week with "Stay With Me".

Elle Varner comes in at #30 with "Don't Wanna Dance" featuring rapper A$AP Ferg. It's my "Soul Pick of the Week"...


Lastly, on the Rhythmic format, whose stations add more dance/pop songs to their playlists, Trey Songz is at #1 for a second week with "Touchin' Lovin'"...

Nicki Minaj, who appears on the Trey Songz track, lands at #38 with her own "Only" featuring Drake, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown...


Taylor Swift's pop #1 hit, "Blank Space", runs onto this chart at #39. It follows her other #1 hit, "Shake It Off", which peaked at #17 on this format...


Pop-rapper Flo Rida enters at #40 with "G.D.F.R." featuring Sage the Gemini and Lookas...
