Dance Sweep: November 8, 2014...


I'm finally down to the last "catch up" chart sweep, checking out the latest songs making the charts in Billboard magazine, and I'll wrap things up with the newest dance jams in the clubs and on the radio...

On the DJ-polled Dance Club Play chart, octogenarian art-rock legend Yoko Ono scores her twelfth #1 club hit with "Angel"...

The highest debut of the week at #43 belongs to Danish singer Nabiha with her second trip into the chart with "Animals". In 2011 she made it to #37 with "Never Played The Bass"...

Club veterans Todd Terry and Tony Moran team up at #45 with "Take It All The Way", my "Dance Pick of the Week". Todd has topped the club chart three times prior, most recently with "It's Over Love" in 1998, while Moran had a pair of chart-toppers in 2007 including "Walk Away" with Kristine W...



The rework of Christian/pop singer Amy Grant's "Baby Baby" was resurrected for a #3 club hit in the summer; now a version of its follow-up in 1991, "Every Heartbeat", lands at #47...


Eden XO, the new moniker of Jessie Malakouti, who previously made the top-10 with "Push It" as Jessie & The Toy Boys, comes back at #48 with "Too Cool To Dance"...


The last club entry at #50 is the collaboration between French DJ Guena LG, Amir Amargan, and British singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor on "Back 2 Paradise"...


Meanwhile, on the radio-monitored Dance Airplay/Mixshow chart,  Calvin Harris climbs to #1 with "Blame" featuring John Newman. It's Harris' sixth #1 dance radio hit, and third in a row...

The sole entry at #23 is French DJ and producer David Guetta with "Dangerous" featuring Sam Martin...
