Aussie Sweep: November 27, 2014...






It's time to head Down Under to check out the songs making the official singles chart in Australia this week, as the first week that "streaming" tallies (from the likes of Spotify and such, and not YouTube) are included...

Taylor Swift lands her third #1 single in this country as "Blank Space" climbs to the top. Her last single "Shake It Off" did the same, and it's worthy to note that she claimed her first chart-topper "Love Story" in 2007, years before she did on the American pop chart...

 The top debut of the week at #3 is the 30th anniversary version of the charity seasonal single "Do They Know It's Christmas", this time to benefit the fight against Ebola in Africa. With current stars like Sam Smith, One Direction, Rita Ora, and Chris Martin of Coldplay, it's a worthy update to the classic...

Australian DJ Will Sparks enters at #4 with "Ah Yeah So What" featuring British rapper Wiley and Aussie singer Elen Levon...


British DJ and producer Mark Ronson and American singer Bruno Mars tore it up on last week's Saturday Night Live with the song at #11, "Uptown Funk". This is Ronson's second top-40 hit as a lead artist; he went to #16 in 2010 with "Bang Bang Bang"...


Sam Smith returns at #28 with the third single from his In The Lonely Hour to make the top-50, "Like I Can". His international smash "Stay With Me" made it to #5 in this country..


The last new entry in the top-50 at #49 is British boyband stars One Direction with "Night Changes". They also climb into the top-10 at #9 with "Steal My Girl"...
