Rock Sweep: November 1, 2014...

Round two of this week's "chart sweeps" brings you the latest songs to make the rock radio charts this week in Billboard magazine...

On the main Rock Airplay chart, Milky Chance spend a fourth week on top with "Stolen Dance"....

What threatens another week at #1 here is the return of the Foo Fighters, as they rocket back on to the list at #5 with "Something For Nothing", my "Rock Pick of the Week". It's the preview of their upcoming  eighth studio album Sonic Highways. Since this aggregate charts' inception in 2009, they have landed three #1 hits with "Wheels", "Rope", and "Walk"...

On the Mainstream Rock radio panel, Nickelback takes a second week at #1 with "Edge Of A Revolution", while the Foo Fighters song lands at #16 (they've been to #1 on this chart four times previously)...

Pennsylvania metalcore band Motionless in White score their second hit with "Reincarnate" at #38. Their first, "America", peaked at #30 in 2013...

Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart, "Stolen Dance" is on top for a sixth week, while the Foo Fighters fly in at #12 (they've enjoyed nine chart-toppers on this list)...

British psychedelic rock group Glass Animals are in at #33 with their first American hit "Gooey"...

Brooklyn indie-rockers TV On The Radio beam in at #35 with "Happy Idiot". The song sits at #27 on the Triple-A format this week as well. This is the band's third trip on this chart; they made it to #34 in 2011 with "Will Do"...

Singer/songwriter Andrew McMahon, the leader of former bands Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin, gets his first solo hit at #37 with "Cecilia And The Satellite". With the two acts before that he made this chart three times, with JM's "The Resolution" reaching #27 in 2008...

Britpop group the Kooks return at #39 with "Bad Habit". It's their sixth trip on this chart; they climbed to #20 in 2011 with "Junk Of The Heart (Happy)"...

Lastly, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, The Black Keys climb to #1 with "Gotta Get Away". It's their third to reign on this chart after "Lonely Boy" and "Fever"...

British modern rock act Bastille comes in at #24 with "Flaws". The single is up at #7 on the Alternative chart this week....

Another crossover from the Modern Rock list enters at #25 as Walk The Moon is in with "Shut Up + Dance". The song is at #23 on the other chart.

...and at #30 is the first new song released from Pink Floyd in 20 years with the instrumental "Louder Than Words". This features keyboards recorded by the late Rick Wright in 1994 for The Division Bell sessions...

I'll return in an hour and a half with the latest on R&B radio...rock on!
